Excavation

excavation

The excavator will be finished early August (2015). The concrete people will get the measurements, and the flag pole holes will be dug out with an auger. Bill and Denny will then lay out the forms for concrete.

We will be up weeding and planting some more heuchera under the dogwoods in the coming days. We also delivered the bricks to the engraver in Niles and he has sent me all sheets to proofread. He will have them done in a couple of weeks.

In another couple of weeks the concrete should be about done and the memorial will be taking shape. Very exciting! The concept plan from John Pawlak is going to make this the nicest memorial around!

It is going to come together quickly now. As soon as there is a date, Wedel’s will be notified that we are ready for plants. The underground sprinkling guys will have to finish before we are at that step. Will keep you all informed as best I can.

I'm fortunate to still have my 85 yr old Uncle Jim Blaisdell with me. What an awesome way to honor him and let him know how proud I am of him. This is such a worthwhile project!! I've been trying to convince him to participate in the Talons Out Honor Flight to DC, but being in the WWII Air Borne, he said he is not used to "landing" in a plane. God Bless our Vets !!

Thank you for doing this. My Uncle Merle is buried at the cemetery along with his parents. I was only 6 months old when he was killed in Korea. Not sure when he joined the Army. My Father & his brother, my Uncle Floyd, both served in the Navy during WWII. They to have both passed away. This will be nice to honor them, and to reunited them together as brothers in arms.
